A LITTLE LOCAL KNOW-HOW

You’ll feel right at home.

What should we wear?

Dress for a summer wedding, and bring comfortable shoes for a long night of dancing. A light layer may be useful later in the evening.

For the Orthodox church ceremony, covered shoulders and long trousers are respectful.

What’s the weather like in August?

Expect warm days and cooler nights in Bacău. Typical August daytime highs are around 25–28°C, with overnight lows around 13–16°C. Some days can be hotter.

Bring sunscreen and sunglasses, a light layer for the evening, and a small umbrella for occasional showers.

What happens at a Romanian wedding?

The church ceremony is followed by an evening celebration with dinner in several courses, music and dancing. The cake and fireworks are planned for midnight, and the party carries on after that.

The nași are our wedding godparents. And when the hora starts, join the circle — someone will happily show you the steps.

Our reply form includes children. Please reply for the guests on your invitation, and message us if you’re unsure about your party size or need any arrangements for little ones.

Can you help with food allergies?

Please include allergies and dietary requirements in your RSVP, with the name of the guest each one applies to. We’ll follow up on the details with you.

How do we get back after the party?

We’re arranging transport back to Fiald Hotel. Request it in your RSVP so we can plan places; the pick-up and return details will follow closer to the wedding.

What do we need before travelling?

Check your passport and the current entry requirements for your nationality before booking and again before travel. UK guests can use the official guidance below.

Check travel insurance, mobile roaming and transport arrangements too.
